Back Boiler
A back boiler is a small boiler unit located at the back of a fireplace that provides central heating and hot water to the entire house when the fire is lit. Coming into trend in the 1960s, back boilers were a trendy but also convenient way of providing heat to a home. Back boilers are most often fitted behind gas or electric fireplaces, but you may find an open fire back boiler in older homes.
Unfortunately, relying on a back boiler to heat your home is no longer a valid option. Back boilers are terribly inefficient. An old standard back boiler is less than 70 efficient, a terrible waste compared to the 90% efficiency of new boilers.

Back Boiler Replacement
Unfortunately, we can no longer install or repair a back boiler in a like-for-like swap. They are too dangerous and not efficient enough for modern homes. If your back boiler has broken down and cannot be repaired, you will need to have your heating system change to a more efficient model (be that a conventional model or a combi boiler).
At Boiler-Tech Gas Services, we can upgrade your back boiler for you to a system that is both more efficient and cheaper to run. Once your new system is installed, you should notice a significant drop in your energy bills. Don’t put replacing your back boiler off any longer, contact Boiler-Tech Gas Services today.
